Nymbus Live in Livermore  (CD/LP, 2012)

Shattered Music's first release since the 1990s is Nymbus, a psych/acid/garage power trio with raw improvisational jams.  Recorded live in 1970, just before the band split up, the album oozes skill, passion, and an energy that has been absent in nearly all commercial releases for many years.

Re-mastering began in 2011, and in early 2012 the limited edition, gate-fold LP was released on colored vinyl with hand numbered jackets.  The album includes a 100% recycled digital download card that is printed with natural ink and embedded with wildflower seeds, so that it can be planted in the dirt after songs are downloaded.  The CD will be out in Fall 2012, and will come as a picture disc in a 6 panel eco digi-pak made from a mix of 100% recycled post-consumer and industrial scrap paper.  The packaging features minimal plastics, and the disc and digi-pak are manufactured using industry-leading low levels of VOCs.  THE NYMBUS CD MEETS FSC/SFI STANDARDS

Dead Amanda Why  (CD, 1994)

A man called Hasty fronted this L.A. group; his vocals being likened to a famous singer of a timeless, legendary rock band.  With guest appearances by Dizzy Reed, former Gun'N'Roses member, Mick Taylor, and Joe Houston, Why  by Dead Amanda captures the essence of true rock and roll spirit in the 1990s; artists sticking closer to their rock roots amidst the distractions of grunge, pop, and the abomination known as "boy bands."

Gerry Groom Twice Blue  (CD, 1994)

A protege of Duane Allman, Gerry Groom was a phenomenal blues and slide guitarist who generated quite a buzz in the 1990s.  Tragically, due to a freak accident, Gerry never saw the record released.  This posthumous album dives into more of Groom's depth of work outside of a pure blues context, as he wasn't playing the blues he became known for until a few years before his passing.  All of the tracks flow together well, and paint a picture of a gifted musician who is no longer with us.

Mick Taylor Coastin Home  (CD, 1995)

One of Great Britain's (if not the world's) greatest guitarists,  Mick Taylor again shows why he has that reputation on Coastin Home.  Recorded live at the 14 Below bar in Santa Monica, CA,  Taylor is joined by blues saxophone great Joe Houston and supported by a vibrant back-up band in what was quite the evening in southern California.  Their interaction approaches stellar at some points, and Mick's performance on "I Wonder Why" is one of the best of his renditions of that song.

Gerry Groom Once In A Blue Moon  (CD, 1992)

Featuring legendary Rolling Stones guitarist  Mick Taylor on slide and dobro, this album features two masters jamming in top notch form.  The sound is so rich and complex, at times it is impossible to distinguish who is playing which instrument, and responsible for which parts of the music.  A truly great recording from some of the most talented guitarists in the blues rock field.

Joe Houston The Blues & Nothin' Else  (CD, 1996)

Blues icon Joe Houston began his career  over 6 decades ago, and played all across the country with his wild saxophone skills until his retirement in the early 2000s.  Mentored by the legendary Big Joe Turner, Houston's skills on the sax continued to refine and expand throughout his years of performing, and he attributed it in part to avoiding the wild partying that many of his peers engaged in.  The Blues & Nothin' Else, released about 10 years before Joe Houston's retirement, captures the brass master still at the top of his game.

Tangerine Cream  (CD, 1998)

Singer Danny Deigan had an extraordinary drive for his music.  Armed with persistence and orange hued flyers, Deigan's efforts and Tangerine's artful glam/club sound had L.A. clubs packed to capacity with crowds of several hundred just months after they first began performing.  Their talent and fan base won them L.A. Magazine's "Local Artist of the Year" award for 1998.

However, internal strife tore Tangerine apart before their debut album was nationally released, and without the band to support it the album did not receive much attention at the time.  Tragically, Deigan passed away a few years later, making Cream the only record ever released by Tangerine, but the band's skill cannot be overlooked on what was perhaps one of the best records of the late 1990s to never receive due acknowledgement.

Unsung Unsung  (CD, 1996)

Unsung was an ambitious, deep collaboration between rock music and spoken word performance.   Musicians Bobby Owsinski, Paul Ill, and Ronnie Ciago spontaneously jammed to the words and moods of guest poets such as author and Descendents singer Mick Farren, and Angela Bowie, former wife of David Bowie.
